That Extra Growth: What causes sudden hair loss?

That Extra Growth: What causes sudden hair loss?

One of the most common causes is something called telogen effluvium. This means the hair rapidly enters the resting phase – often after the body has been under stress. About two months later the hair begins to fall.

8 common causes:

  1. Childbirth
  2. Rapid weight loss or nutritional deficiency
  3. Changes in medication or hormonal contraceptives
  4. Illness or infection
  5. Major surgery or accident
  6. Stress and psychological strain
  7. Fever or inflammation in the body
  8. Thyroid disorders

You don’t have to experience all the symptoms at once – but if you recognize some of these points, your hair loss may have a temporary explanation.

How you can help your hair recover – naturally and effectively

Hair loss can feel hopeless, but there are things you can do today to help the scalp recover and give your hair the best conditions for growing back.

1. Strengthen hair from the root with Capilia Longa & PRO Growth complex

Our Hair Growth Series is developed together with hairdressers and chemists, specifically for women experiencing hair loss. The series contains the clinically studied plant extract Capilia Longa, which in studies has shown to:

  • Reduce hair loss by up to 89%
  • Increase visible hair density by 52%
  • Promote regrowth by awakening dormant hair follicles

Together with our PRO Growth complex — which contains among other things caffeine, provitamin B5 and organic plant oils — the scalp receives both stimulation and nourishment.

“After just a few weeks I saw a difference. Now I feel confident every time I shower – the hair feels stronger and thicker.” – Customer review

2. Create a healthy washing routine

Wash your hair 2–3 times a week with a mild but active formula that doesn’t dry out the scalp. Our Hair Growth Shampoo cleans gently while stimulating growth. Always follow up with Hair Growth Conditioner which moisturises without weighing down.

All products are free from sulphates, silicones, perfume and synthetic preservatives. They are pH-balanced and gentle even for sensitive scalps.

3. Mist – your new everyday routine for hair growth

Our Hair Growth Mist is used twice a day, directly on the scalp. Massage in with fingertips to increase blood circulation and maximise effect.

Mist + massage = easy to incorporate into your morning and evening routine.

4. Avoid common mistakes that worsen hair loss

Tight hairstyles, over-styling, bleaching or aggressive products can irritate the scalp further.

Brushing wet hair roughly can cause mechanical hair loss – use a soft brush and a leave-in product.

Stressing over hair loss – we know, easier said than done. But stress can become a vicious circle.

5. Nutrition from the inside

Hair needs building blocks – protein, iron, zinc, biotin and omega-3. Review your diet and feel free to supplement, especially if you have recently been ill, pregnant or lost weight.

How long does it take before the hair grows back?

Hair grows on average 1–1.5 cm per month. The first sign that something is happening is often small, light “baby hairs” at the temples or parting.

Give your scalp at least 90 days before you evaluate – especially with products that work deeply down in the hair follicle. We therefore recommend:

When should you contact a doctor?

If you experience sudden, severe or patchy hair loss, or suspect hormonal or medical causes – always contact a doctor to rule out underlying conditions such as iron deficiency, thyroid problems or autoimmune disorders.
